Gym Halama
Gym Halama nació en Londres de padre inglés y madre polaca. Allí completó la educación primaria y secundaria en el Liceo Francés.
Desde que se trasladó a la provincia de Granada en España en 1995, Gym Halama ha desplegado sus considerables habilidades como artista de efectos especiales, produciendo un conjunto de obras que abarcan muchos temas y asuntos: una de estas series consiste en grandes lienzos de cajas de comida vacías apiladas al azar, que evocan el anonimato de los que consumen y desperdician en un mundo que se ha vuelto frágil por la superpoblación, el uso descuidado de los recursos y el agotamiento del tiempo.
También ha estado ahondando en los recuerdos de la infancia, el efecto que tuvo en ella a los ocho años, después de la muerte de su madre alcohólica; también ha producido una serie de cajas de luz creadas a partir de rayos X de su cráneo después de un accidente casi mortal, que representan la vida, la muerte y la memoria.
En 2011, Gym Halama escribió un libro de 50 historias cortas sobre su vida, acompañadas de 50 de sus pinturas, llamado „Zig Zag, Flashbacks de un pintor“

Gym Halama
Gym Halama was born in London to an english father and polish mother. There she completed primary and secondary education at the French Lycée.
Since moving to Granada province in Spain in 1995, Gym Halama has deployed her considerable skills as a special effects artist, producing a body of work covering many subjects and themes: one of these series consists of large canvases of randomly stacked empty food crates, evoking an anonymity by those who consume and waste in a world made fragile by over-population, careless use of resources and running out of time.
She has also been delving into childhood memories, the effect on her at age eight, after the death of her alcoholic mother; also producing a series of light-boxes created from X-rays of her skull after a near fatal accident, representing life, death and memory.
In 2011, Gym Halama wrote a book of 50 short stories about her life, accompanied by 50 of her paintings, called “Zig Zag, Flashbacks of a Painter”

Gym Halama wurde in London als Tochter eines englischen Vaters und einer polnischen Mutter geboren. Dort absolvierte sie die Primar- und Sekundarschulausbildung am französischen Lycée.
Seit ihrem Umzug 1995 in die spanische Provinz Granada hat Gym Halama ihre beachtlichen Fähigkeiten als Special-Effects-Künstlerin eingesetzt und eine Reihe von Werken geschaffen, die viele Themen und Bereiche abdecken: Eine dieser Serien besteht aus großen Leinwänden mit willkürlich gestapelten leeren Lebensmittelkisten, die eine Anonymität derjenigen hervorrufen, die in einer Welt konsumieren und verschwenden, die durch Überbevölkerung, sorglosen Umgang mit Ressourcen und Zeitmangel zerbrechlich geworden ist.
Sie hat sich auch mit Kindheitserinnerungen auseinandergesetzt, mit der Wirkung, die der Tod ihrer alkoholkranken Mutter auf sie im Alter von acht Jahren hatte; sie hat auch eine Reihe von Leuchtkästen aus Röntgenaufnahmen ihres Schädels nach einem beinahe tödlichen Unfall hergestellt, die Leben, Tod und Erinnerung darstellen.
2011 schrieb Gym Halama ein Buch mit 50 Kurzgeschichten über ihr Leben, begleitet von 50 ihrer Gemälde, mit dem Titel „Zig Zag, Flashbacks of a Painter“ (Zickzack, Rückblenden eines Malers).
